Sustainability in Kantola

We are not there yet. But we are on our way to more sustainable business.

Kantola has Good Travel Seal certification

Kantola has been awarded the Good Travel Seal certificate for sustainable tourism in the summer of 2023. The certificate will be reviewed and renewed in August 2025. The GTS certificate is used to evaluate sustainable and responsible operations, and it also helps us to evaluate and improve our own practices. You can watch the video about the Good Travel Seal in Kantola below. You can also read more about the certificate on their website: link to the Good Travel Seal website (link opens in a new window).

We are on our way to Sustainable Travel Finland -mark

In Kantola, we have started to implement the Sustainable Travel Finland programme by the end of 2024. It is a tourism sustainability label developed and managed by Visit Finland that enables tourism businesses and areas to review and develop their operations towards more sustainable tourism business. A 7-step development path is followed to verify the fulfilment of the criteria and to create a development plan to use in the future. The criteria are based on international standards. Visit Finland awards with the label when and if all the criterias are fullfilled. The STF will also be used to monitor progress in the future and will be renewed, just like the Good Travel Seal certificate. You can read more about the STF programme on their website: Link to the STF programme (link opens in a new window).
